Thank you.) I am 38 years old and was diagnosed with myelofibrosis last December. I am preparing for a spleenectomy and bone marrow transplant. Id like to hear from others with this disease. M.G., melaniemcraegree@gateway.net. In 1993 I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. I had two stem cell transplants, four and one-half years of interferon, and all the other stuff. This year, I had a double mastectomy for breast cancer, followed by Taxol. As a result of my experiences, Ive become interested in cancer etiquettewhat people say to those with cancer that is appropriate, and what is not. Im interested in hearing others stories about how positive language helped them, and possibly compiling the stories into a book. Please send your cancer etiquette stories to R.K., rklibrary@earthlink.net. |
