Order Your Celebrating Life 2003 Calendar Today!
Are you
looking for a holiday gift that will inspire hope and joy throughout the new
year? Then look no further. This year, BMT InfoNet is once again offering the
popular Celebrating Life 2003 Calendar. This beautiful full-color wall
calendar honors twelve survivors of a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant
and describes, with photos and essays, what each survivor has done with his or
her new lease on life since their transplant.
The survivors celebrated in the 2003 calendar come from diverse
walks of life, had different diagnoses, and represent a wide range of ages and
cultures. Each has a unique and uplifting story to tell, and together they
represent the many other brave people who have faced the challenges of a bone
marrow or blood stem cell transplant.
Through this calendar you will meet:
- 9-year-old Katy Hubbell (aplastic anemia) who wants to be a
pediatric nurse when she grows up so she can help sick kids o
- 66-year-old Walter Funmaker (multiple myeloma), a retired
professor of cultural anthropology and Native American who spent the first two
years of life living in a wigwam
- 16-year-old Amanda Riley (Hodgkin's disease and myelodysplasia)
who underwent two transplants and excels in karate
- 41-year-old Rima D'Agosto (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma), formerly a
pediatric dentist, who now devotes her time to raising her three wonderful
children
- 37-year-old Eric Cowart (CML), who changed his life focus after
transplant and is now studying for the ministry
- 41-year-old Elouise Thompson (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma) who loves
interior decorating and volunteering with seniors at her local church
- 67-year-old Pati Day (breast cancer) who loves the outdoors
and helping cancer patients in the Florida Keys
- 29-year-old Krista Hughey (AML) who trains and shows her
miniature horse and raises a menagerie of other pets
- 40-year-old Gregg Ybarra (CML) who gave up a promising
financial career after transplant to become Mr. Mom and enjoy his family
- 35-year-old Mamatha Hanumanthaiah (non-Hodgkin's lymphoma) who
conceived a child after transplant and is proof that miracles do happen
- 20-year-old Valerie Sun (aplastic anemia) who sings
beatboxing-a vocal percussion technique that sounds like a drum
- 60-year-old Ray Stuttgen (CML) who is grateful that he was one
of 17 children and was, therefore, able to easily find a donor
