BMT Clinical Trials Network Study for Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma
The Blood and Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT CTN) is currently enrolling patients in a clinical trial evaluating the benefit of adding Bexxar® radioimmunotherapy instead of Rituxan® to BEAM chemotherapy before an autologous transplant for diffuse large B-cell Lymphoma.
Rituxan® is an antibody that attaches to certain lymphoma cells, leading to their death. Bexxar® is a radioactive antibody that also targets lymphoma cells; the radioactivity may increase the ability of the antibody to kill lymphoma cells. This study will compare the ability of Rituxan® and Bexxar® to decrease the risk of relapse after BEAM and autologous transplantation.
To participate in this study, patients must be between 18 and 80 years old, have received 1 – 3 prior chemotherapy regimens for their disease, and have lymphoma that is sensitive to standard chemotherapy.
For additional information about this study, contact Dr. Julie Vose (jmvose@unmc.edu), Dr. Marcie Tomblyn (tombl001@umn.edu), or visit the BMT CTN website (www.bmtctn.net).
