Possible Uses:
Prevent or treat bacterial infections.
Special Notes:
Contact your healthcare provider for severe diarrhea. Do NOT take any over the counter anti-diarrheal medication unless directed by your helathcare provider. Take all the medication given to you, even if you are feeling better.
Drug Interactions:
Avoid calcium supplements, antacids, and dairy products one hour before or two hours after taking.
Possible Side Effects:
Diarrhea, rash, nausea, and vomiting. May cause pseudomembranous colitis which causes diarrhea. May predispose patient to a bowel infection called clostridium difficile. If you get diarrhea, do not not take anti-diarrhea medication until you talk with your doctor. Last updated on 02/01/2010
