A chemotherapy drug. Originally developed from the pacific Yew Tree

Special Notes: 
Antihistamines(Benadryl & cimetidine) and steroids (dexamethasone) must be given before this drug to prevent hypersensitivity reactions.

Possible Side Effects: 
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, fever, chills, mouth sores, numbness and/or tingling in fingers and toes that may progress to hands, lower arms and feet, nerve pain, bone pain, muscle pain, tiredness, loss of appetite, temporary hair loss, heartbeat irregularities. If patient is allergic, may cause swollen face, lips or throat, breathing difficulties, lowered blood pressure. Rarely, separation of the nails from fingers. Nails re-grow when drug is discontinued.
