Possible Uses:
Prevent or treat seizures. Also used with other pain medications to help relieve nerve pain.
Possible Side Effects:
Sleepiness, reduced coordination, low blood pressure, involuntary eye or body movement, confusion, rash, flu-like feeling, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, nervousness, trouble sleeping, constipation, excess hair growth, thickening of gums. Rarely, causes severe burn like damage to skin called Stevens-Johnson syndrome. If you notice a rash that starts to get worse after being started on phenytoin, notify your doctor immediately.
