Possible Uses:
Use to treat cytomegalovirus infections (CMV). Also used 'off label' to treat BK virus in the bladder.
Drug Interactions:
when used in higher doses a drug known as probenecid must also be given to protect the kidneys
Possible Side Effects:
chills, fevers, headaches, hair loss, rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anemia, neutropenia, weakness, kidney damage, cough, difficulty breathing.
