
New Online Support Group for Parents of a Child, age 0-18, who is Living with Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD)
If your child has been diagnosed with graft-versus-host-disease (GVHD), we invite you to join this monthly support group. Connect with others in a safe and private environment.
The group will meet via Zoom for eight weeks on Wednesdays, starting June 7th - August 2nd, 2023 (no meeting on July 5th)
The 75-minute meeting will be online using Zoom
(A computer or tablet works best for these meetings).
Meet group leader Caitlin Scanlon, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LCSW (she, her)
Ms. Scanlon is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in helping children, adolescents, and families experiencing serious illness, grief, loss, and coping. She is very familiar with bone marrow/stem cell transplantation and CAR T-cell therapy and has helped patients and their families cope with issues such as graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), secondary cancers.
She is passionate about guiding and supporting families as they cope with serious illness. She recognizes that when an individual is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family system is impacted and she works with the individual and whole family to reduce feelings of isolation and address coping, bridging communication gaps amidst managing difficult situations, and a variety of other needs.
